Will it be a sword or carving tool? Almay Beukman has never been able to stick to just one. 

Born in South Africa and raised in England; her body of work represents her background and fascination with different cultures, travelling and telling stories from all over the world. Driven by the combination of curation, narrative, and illustration, she aims to work within the publishing industry as a cover designer. 

There’s a magic to bringing words to life and Almay seeks out mystery and adventure in every element of her work. Of course, it doesn’t just stop at the subject matter, but even in the alchemical combination of traditional lino printing techniques and digital illustration that form the foundation of her practice. 

Almay is currently working as a Production Team Leader at Twinkl Educational Publishing.
